This week Brose is joined by Bat-fan and After The Snow illustrator Trev Wood and comic book tragics; Looch and Jazz. They sit down to relive the 1997 big screen comic book flick: Batman and Robin.

Joel Schumacher’s first franchise instalment was a legitimate box office giant. The second effort... not so much... Warner Bros. wanted to sell toys, so they upped the ante and cast THE BIGGEST STAR IN THE WORLD; Arnold Schwarzenegger AND indie darling; Uma Thurman, fresh off Pulp Fiction.

The new baddies faced off against a recast Caped Crusader; George Clooney. And why not? I’m sure the core demographic loved George in ER... And Clueless star, Alicia Silverstone making her debut as Batgirl. Oh, and Chris O'Donnell... shows up... again...

After 20+ years what do the guys make of the 4th time out for the not-so Dark Knight? Are there fond memories or were they just left out in cold?

In our first Melbourne Fringe Festival episode for 2019, Brose chats Princess Protection Program with two of the stars of Princess Problems; Meerna Yousif and Maddison Verduci.

We discuss whether Selena Gomez is better than Demi Lovato (or are they just one and the same), who is besties with who and will Brose ever watch this film ever again?

Princess Problems is on during Melbourne Fringe Festival; details and tickets at: melbournefringe.com.au

The 156th episode of ChatFlix brings you the 9th and latest flick from Quentin Tarantino: Once Upon A Time... In Hollywood.

In a spoiler-filled chat Brose, James and Danielle chat themselves back to the swinging 60’s and get entwined in a tale featuring faded stars, stuntmen, cults and free love in the final years of the Hollywoods Golden Age.

Who’s the better actor? Leo or Rick Dalton? Is Brad Pitt a believable stunt double even at 56?! And how does it all tie into Margot Robbie’s Sharon Tate and those real life events? Has QT overstayed his welcome? Or is 9th time a charm?

These questions may be answered in a little story that happened once upon a time... on ChatFlix.

From the dawn of time Highlander sequels came, moving silently through the 90s and 2000’s. No one has ever known of this made for television movie sequel; Highlander: The Source… until now!

This week’s Chatflix Mini has Stu and Shaun crossing swords once again, in an attempt to decapitate this TV movie, the final and arguably the worst of the Highlander sequels (which Brose will also argue Brose, despite that he has never seen it)

Adrian Paul, Thekla Reuter, Cristian Solimeno and Peter Wingfield star in this film as the franchise goes out with a whimper. No one is asking for the recipe of this Secret Source.

There can be only one… only one more… there can be only one more ‘last one’… one.

Aug 27, 2019

Brose is joined by Stu, James and Danielle to look through the lens at an Alfred Hitchcock classic!

As always we discuss the most important elements of this film; Why isn't Jeffries into Lisa? Who has the better body at 46, James Stewart or Cary Grant? And how effective is a flash as weapon (before the handle is used to built a light sabre)?

Grace Kelly radiates as Raymond Burr grumbles through a film shot on one of Hollywood's most spectacular sets.

Become a peeping tom with us and enjoy Rear Window.

Aug 22, 2019

This week Stu and Shaun chat the nature of Highlander villains having a name begging with 'K,' who is the best McLeod and was Ross Whedon's Buffy: The Vampire Slayer influenced by this film?

Highlander Endgame sees the merging of the film series and the TV series (yes, there was a TV series!) so we have double McLeods with Duncan and Connor. Christopher Lambert and Adrian Paul team up to defeat Bruce Payne's Kell (see, 'K') and an appearance by Donnie Yen's Jin Ke (another 'K').

We promise you will enjoy this podcast more than the film... unless you are Shaun!

Ghostbusters 2's plot is the worst kind of popular tripe, its methods are sloppy, and its conclusion is highly questionable! Ghostbusters 2 is a poor film!

5 years after the original Ghostbusters blew us away we got Ghostbusters 2. Reuniting the original cast in a brand new story pitting then against a river of ectoplasm and a resurgence of paranormal activity.
Sticking two fingers high up in the air Brose is back in business with Ghostbusters comic collaborator Tristan Jones, Victorian Ghostbuster Cable and comedian Angus Brown to chat Ghostbusters 2.

Will they look back on the Ivan Reitman sequel fondly? Or are Bill Murray, Dan Ackroyd, Harold Ramis, Sigourney Weaver and Ernie Hudson's second efforts too little, too late?

Download now to find out!

Aug 15, 2019

Stu and Shaun sit down again to address another Highlander sequel; Highlander 3: The Sorcerer. Also; will Stu and Shaun resolve the name of this film? The Sorcerer? The Final Dimension? What exactly is it?!?

Remember Stu said last week that he had to give Highlander 2 a better score than he'd prefer so he would have 'somewhere to go?' Do you think he needed to save room for a higher or lower score...? Find out this week!

Mario Van Peebles, Deborah Kara Unger and Mako join a returning Christopher Lambert. Will you return to the Highlander with us?

Aug 13, 2019

For our 150th episode we’re diving to 25,000 feet below the oceans surface. Pop on your best scuba gear and dive right in with Brose, Danielle and Jarrod as they explore, for its 30th Anniversary, The Abyss.

Ed Harris, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, Michael Biehn and a water pseudopod.. yep, definitely a pseudopod and not something else... star in one of cinema's most epic underwater sensations.

Together the Chatflix crew will sink deeper and deeper into writer/director James Cameron’s imagination. Will they find his most under appreciated flick or just The Abuse.

Aug 8, 2019

Stu and Shaun go head to head to decide if there is only one good Highlander sequel (or none at all). Over the next 4 weeks Stu and Shaun will take us through the 5 Highlanders sequels and hopefully don't lose their heads.

Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery return and are joined by Shaun's favourite Virginia Madsen and the original one armed man; Michael Ironside!

Step back to 1991 and see what we think of this epic sequel.

Buckle up! Chatflix is Fast and the topic this week is Furious. The Fast and the Furious to be exact. Put 3 nerds in a room and try and keep up, NOS optional.

Film nerd Brose is joined by regular nerd Jarrod and off mic ChatFlix Alum AND (self confessed) car nerd Tim Lewis!

Chatting the first flick in one of cinemas BIGGEST franchises like the MCU and Star Wars before it. It’s a tale as old as time, it’s the little race car engine that could!l starring a charismatic Vin Diesel, tough-as-nails Michelle Rodriguez, cute as a button Jordana Brewster and a present Paul Walker.

ChatFlix presents the first ChatFlix Watch Along!
Famous for being known as the very worst film in the franchise, we advise that if you ARE going to watch it, watch along with Chatflix!

Brose and James protect you as they chat while watching Police Academy: Mission to Moscow to serve as an alternative commentary track.

A reduced cast of Michael Winslow, Leslie Easterbrook, George Gaynes, David Graf and G.W. Bailey reunite with newcomer Charlie Schlatter and head to Russia for this giant mister. Even support from Christopher Lee, Claire Forlani and Ron Pearlman make little difference to this Lada of a car crash.

Jul 30, 2019

This week Brose, Stu, James and guest Stephen Rowley don their brown hats and brown leather jackets and light brown pants (so much brown Dr Jones!) and explore the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull!

Is it an exciting Kingdom with great stunts, witty dialogue and fun times? Or is it an interminable Kingdumb with a mutt of a plot, bad script and bizarre performances? I think you already know!

Regardless of the quality of the film, this week's episode is a lot of fun and you should listen to the pain and humour involved in discussing this much maligned film.

Jul 25, 2019

Brose and James join forces to chat the final Police Academy film ever made! What...? There's one more after this? Why?

Brose and James join forces to chat the penultimate Police Academy film ever made; City Under Siege.

Much like Assignment Miami Beach, a trimmer more streamlined cast go head to head with a mysterious villain. Bubba Smith, Marion Ramsay, Leslie Easterbrook, Michael Winslow, Matt McCoy and David Graf return to represent George Gaynes' Lassard with the contstant interference of G.W. Bailey and Lance Kinsey's Harris and Proctor! Bruce Mahler returns as Fackler (why?!?!) and Kenneth Mars pops up as the mayor!

Sit back and enjoy the last watchable Police Academy film ever made!

Jul 23, 2019

Hail to the King Baby!

Before you see Jon Favreau’s remake of The Lion King listen to our take on the 1994 original and remember what makes Disney the true King of animated features!

Brose just can’t wait to be king, Kathryn is a little Hukana Mutata about it all (roughly translated it means No Worries ((for the rest of your days)) and Gabby really can feel the love... tonight...

Pull up a space on Pride Rock and listen along, its the other circle of life that Mufasa isn’t telling you about!

Jul 9, 2019

Chatflix pack their bags and head to Europe as they get Far From Home with Spider-Man’s LATEST cinematic outing.

Brose will be our tour guide, joined by two web slinging panelists; Adam Thomas and Spidey-tragic Jarrod to chat Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Find out what we thought of Tom Holland, Jake Gyllenhaal, Samuel L Jackson, Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau and Zendaya in the latest Marvel Films Flick. This is SPOILER filled, so if you haven't seen Far From Home, stay Far From ChatFlix until you have!

Jul 4, 2019

In Part Five of Seven, Brose and James tackle a trip to Florida with Police Academy 5 Assignment Miami Beach!

The one film in the series where George Gaynes gets to star, along side Matt McCoy as his nephew replacing Steve Guttengberg.

A refined list of Academy graduates makes for a slicker film too; Bubba Smith, Michael Winslow, David Graf, Marion Ramsay and Leslie Easterbrook fill out Lassard's team with GW Bailey and Lance Kinsey along attesting to spoil the occasion.

Rene Auberjonois is great as the villian, revelling in all the slapstick buffoonery!

Jul 3, 2019

This week Brose slips on his red ticked Nikes, Matt is decked out in double denim and Jarrod explores the Power of Love. Together they’ll get the DeLorean up to 88 miles per hour and head..

Back to the Future!

This week is a fun discussion about some, perhaps, over looked details and how this film effected them and their views on it now.

Was Michael J Fox a better choice than Eric Stoltz? Could anyone be better than Christopher Lloyd? Where would we go if we could travel anywhere in time?

Travel back to 1985 will us (you won’t even need a time machine) to discuss what may well be a perfect flick.

Jun 27, 2019

As mentioned previously this film is the gold standard for Brose... will his heart be broken? Will James enjoy it? Which of the Academy Graduates return and who is left behind? Will we see Steve 'the Cute' Guttenberg, Bubba Smith, Michael Winslow, David Graf, Leslie Easterbrook, Marion Ramsay? And how, exactly, does Sharon Stone fit? Find out this week on ChatFlix!

Jun 25, 2019

This week Brose donned his cowboy hat and has written Andy on the bottom of his boots to be joined by Jarrod, Sophie and Anthony to chat Toy Story 4! Find out whether the film matches the buzz as we have a (Bo) peep at this new release! Tom Hanks and Tim Allen are joined by a cast bigger the Avengers: Endgame; Annie Potts, Key and Peele, Christina Hendricks, Keanu Reeves, Tony Hale, Mel Brooks, Carol Burnett, Don Rickles, Carl Reiner, etc etc (get the picture?)

Jun 18, 2019

This week Brose and James follow up Police Academy 2 with... you got it! Police Academy 3: Back in Training! Join us as we chat a new rag tag bunch of misfits join the Academy to be trained by the original rag tag bunch of misfits! We see the return of Steve Guttenberg, Bubba Smith, Michael Winslow, Marion Ramsay, George Gaynes, David Graf, Leslie Easterbrook, Lance Kinsey and for no apparent reason, Bruce Mahler as Fackler...

Jun 18, 2019

This week 'Flix gets awesome! Brose is joined by Kathryn Tohill and Lego Masters Australia's Maddy and Jimmy! We chat about their life and love with Lego and, of course, The Lego Movie!

We break down the fine work of Lord and Miller, Chris Pratt, Will Farrell, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Alison Brie, Charlie Day, Liam Neeson, Nick Offerman and Morgan Freeman! We also nominate our Lego Movie Spirit Character!

Jun 13, 2019

Brose and James are trained and ready for their first assignment! They tackle (berry) the second instalment in the Police Academy series Police Academy: Their First Assignment. How has their esteem for Steve Guttenberg changed since the first film? How much screen time will Bubba Smith, Marion Ramsay, Colleen Camp and Julie Brown actually get? What new sound effects will Michale Winslow introduce? Will David Graf shoot something out of a tree and why is Bruce Mahler even in this film? With Art Metrano replacing GW Bailey, the introduction of Lance Kinsey as Proctor and Howard Hesseman appears as George Gaynes' Lassard's brother!

Jun 13, 2019

Here come the Men In Chat! Brose is joined by galaxy defenders Jarrod and Looch. Donning black Ray Bans and with their reverse neutraliser they WILL make you remember just how fun this late 90s Barry Sonnenfeld flick is. Starring a perfectly appropriate Tommy Lee Jones and some kid from TV that people call the Fresh Prince! Oh that’s right it’s WILL SMITH! So forget that Roswell crap, show love to the black suit, because this week we’re doing Men In Black.

Jun 6, 2019

This week Brose and James report for basic training as they discuss the first of 7 Police Academy films! Steve Guttenberg, Michael Winslow, Bubba Smith, Marion Ramsey, George Gaynes, Kim Catrall, GW Bailey and David Graf all assemble for the ChatFlix treatment! Join us each week to see how this comedy series holds up (NB. We are not looking forward to Mission to Moscow!)
