We assemble our own ragtag group of rebels, Brose, Stu, Trev and Shaun Crawford from fakeshemp.net.

It's a Jynferno of opinions as we cover all the thrills and spills of the prequel to the original that then became a sequel followed by two more sequels then three bad prequels (which we don't discuss) followed by a sequel which was a lot like the orginal/sequel. With all of that it's no wonder we needed flow charts and an elite cadre of Star Wars fans to talk about Rogue One.

Also don't forget to listen to our all star rogueview ep.

Dec 27, 2016

We fly around the galaxy finding out what people thought of the latest addition to the Star Wars story.

Brose got on the Flixphone and called everyone as they left the cinema, popcorn still warm to get their thoughts.

Did it give Steele Saunders a new hope? Did Tristan Jones' Force Awaken? Was Matt's Caravan full of Courage? Hey not everyone of these is going to be gold...

Don't forget to listen to Brose, Trev, Stu and Shaun discuss it more depth.

Dec 20, 2016

Echo, Brose, and Liesl strap on the gloves and climb in the ring to talk about the Man, The Myth, the Legend. The Italian Stallion: Rocky.

The 1976 film made Sylvester Stallone a star and launched one of the most enduring franchises in cinema history that is now 6 films long. Does Brose think the film manages to Rise up back on the streets? Does Echo think that a half man, half stallion with the eye of a tiger make an effective boxer?

Also in this episode Brose chats to Jeremy Shada, Finn from Adventure Time, to discuss his love of film

"He doesn't know it's a damn show! He thinks it's a damn fight!"

Bridget Jones. She a drinker, smoker, appallingly bad public speaker as well as a wanton sex goddess with absolutely enormous panties. But Echo, Brose, Tamzen and Trev likes her, very much. Just as she is.

Join us as we drink some chardonnay, sip some blue soup and talk about a role model for the 21st century and the love triangle between childult Hugh Grant and haughty Colin Firth (who should totally rethink the length of his sideburns).

Film wizard guests Matt and Leisl join muggle Echo and Brose as they board the train at Platform 9 and 3/4 to witness Harry, Ron and Hermione’s first year at Hogwarts.

The mix between grange hill and lord of the rings made Harry Potter the second biggest franchise of all time, making Warners rich and running around on a broom the coolest it's been since Salem 1692.

What did we think? Well it’s got Richard Harris, Maggie Smith, Robbie Coltrane and Alan Rickman in it so we think it’s magic.

"I hope you're pleased with yourselves. We could all have been killed - or worse, expelled. Now if you don't mind, I'm going to bed."

Nov 30, 2016

Harold Crick is a very boring man, and as an auditor for the IRS he probably should die.. but that doesn’t make it any easier for him to hear that an omniscient narrator plans to kill him. Harold needs to find the narrator and convince her to change his story or if that fails maybe take control of his own life.

Join Echo, Brose, Stu and Leisl as they get very meta and provide commentary on a film about a book and a few amazing characters including Will Farrell, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Emma Thompson and Dustin Hoffman.

“Some plots are moved forward by external events and crises. Others are moved forward by the characters themselves."

Nov 24, 2016

You’ll never have friends like the ones you had when you were 12…

But Echo, Brose, Trev and Summer are going to give it our best shot anyway.

Join us as we wander down the train tracks with Gordy, Chris, Teddy and Vern to discuss this 1986 Steven King penned tale of four friends and how it’s not about the destination but rather the journey.

Go on, Gordie, it's a swell story.

Nov 16, 2016

Join Echo, Brose, Trev and Danielle to discuss a 40 year old satire that somehow became reality.

Paddy Chayefsky delivered a  prophetically chilling vision of news as entertainment. Directed by Sidney Lumen with a multi-Oscar winning cast including Faye Dunaway, Peter Finch and Beatrice Straight as well as film legends William Holden, Robert Duvall and Ned Beatty, the Chatflix team have a lot to chat about.

Things have got to change. But first, you've gotta get mad!... You've got to say, 'I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!'

Nov 10, 2016

This week Echo, Brose, Stuart and Shaun Crawford of fakeshemp.net discuss whether Richard Kelly’s Donnie Darko is a psychological horror-science fiction drama or a unique retelling of the story of chicken little?

Beware of falling aeroplane engines and Patrick Swayzes

Nov 2, 2016

Echo assembles her own fellowship to endure the gruelling task of watching part one of Peter Jackson's hobbit filled Lord of the Rings saga.

They say you don't simply walk to Mordor but jeez there's a of walking in this film! We get it Peter! New Zealand is pretty! Now get to the damn Balrog!

Oct 26, 2016

The Chatflix team (Echo, Brose, Trev and Danielle) climb into the Porkchop Express with Jack Burton to dissect Big Trouble in Little China with all the physical prowess, intellectual wit and overall effectiveness of Kurt Russell's Ol' Jack himself.

So sit tight, hold the fort and keep the home fires burning. And if we're not back by dawn... call the President.

Oct 19, 2016
Brad, George, Matt, .... and 8 other guys decide to rob a casino and steal our hearts in the stylish caper film Ocean's Eleven.

Echo, Brose assemble Tamzen and Samantha to create Chatflix's Four to look at Soderbergh's all star remake. All-star if you consider Scott Caan and the nerdy computer guy 'stars'.

Ever found a talking plant from outer space that eats humans that helped you get respect at work and help you get the girl of your dreams...

Jade, Brose, Trev and Matt get together to chat about a young guy called Seymour that DID find a mean green mutha from outer space in Little Shop of Horrors.

Frank Oz directed an amazing cast of comedy legends including Rick Moranis, Bill Murray, Steve Martin and Jim Belushi as well as Ellen Greene for a rollicking musical adventure. Even grumpy old musical hater Matt loves this film

Sep 23, 2016

A stellar combination of master storyteller and the childlike craziness of Robin Williams as they boy who never grows up, Peter Pan, should be a great Hook for a film (see what we did there?) but was there enough fairy dust sprinkled to provide this film with the magic it needed? Join Brose, Jade, Stu and Caity get together to talk about the good, the bad and the sublime (Bob Hoskins)

Sep 15, 2016

The most batusi-ed film to ever slide down a batpole into our hearts.

Jade, Brose, Trev and Lucas Testro, director of the brilliant short film Capes get together to wax lyrical of the greatest Batman ever. Say what you want about Nolan's trilogy but in one film Adam West and Burt Ward fight off sharks, fight FOUR villains and saved baby ducks, nuns, young lovers, a marching band AND the entire World Council! Bale couldn't even save his girlfriend!

Don't forget to rate and review us for bonus Chatflix Karma points redeemable at all good Bat-stores.

Aug 31, 2016

With characters like Tricky Dicky and Deepthroat you would be forgiven for thinking this weeks episode was a total smutfest but instead Jade, Brose, Stu and Nick Coe get all cultured and political and talk about the classic Redford/Hoffman drama All the President's Men.

Based on the true story of Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward's investigation into the 1972 break in at the Watergate Hotel that lead to Nixon's resignation, the film follows the two reporters as they gather sources that aren't twitter quotes, do thorough research and don't do a single list article. They are practically unrecognisable from modern journalists.

Aug 25, 2016

It's 1986 and Jim Henson's camera lingers lovingly on a shot of David Bowies crotch. It captivates the world and 30 years later Brose, Jade, Stu and Muppets guru / Project producer KB Barker gather to talk about the not-at-all creepy story of a 14 year old girl being wooed by a grown man in leggings in a maze designed to entrap her... also he's trying to steal babies.

We discuss the amazing world of the Labyrinth filled with Brian Froud's delightful creatures under the direction of  Henson.

Mainly we talk about Bowie. You want to know why? Because he's the flippin Goblin King that's why!

Make sure you rate and review us because the Goblin King asked you to.

Aug 17, 2016
