As we wander aimlessly into winter here in Australia, Brose and Angus are joined by comedian Aaron 'Gocsy' Gocs to revisit the Cohen Brothers film Fargo.

With an Oscar winning performance from Frances McDormand and with Cohen Bros regulars William H Macy and Steve Buscemi, we trek into the white tundra as trouble is afoot.

Enjoy our insight and discussion and, if you only take one lesson from this episode, know that Cocsy has an abject fear of being murdered and left in a snowy wasteland!

May 14, 2020

This week Brose and Angus are joined by comedian Sonia di Iorio to discuss one of her fondest childhood films; Beetlejuice!

The comedy of Keaton and the darkness of Burton align perfectly and co-exist, balanced, in a way Burton never achieved again. The whimsy, the humour, death, suicide and claymation never looked so good!

Listen on to see what we thought and whether we summon the bio-exorcist himself by uttering his name three times...

Reality is tough, reality is hard, reality bites!

Claire Sullivan joins Brose and Angus to chat this 1994, post grunge, pre-internet, Ben Stiller directorial debut; Reality Bites.

Recruiting Winona Ryder, Ethan Hawke, Jeneane Garofalo and Steve Zahn to illustrate the frustrations of youth and the perils of Generation X.

One thing we can guarantee is this week ChatFlix doesn't bite but reality sure does!

Can you feel it in your fingers? Or feel it in your toes? Its time for a BRAND NEW episode of Chatflix and this time it’s Three Panelists and a Podcast when we look back to 1994 for Four Weddings And A Funeral with Brose, Angus and for the first time EVER, Comedian and Triple J presenter Jess Perkins.

Before Notting Hill, or even Love Actually, Richard Curtis wrote this outrageously funny affair with a dashingly young Hugh Grant, the engaging (wink, wink) Andie McDowell and scene stealing Rowan Atkinson about a committed bachelor potentially discovering love over the course four weddings and, you guessed it, one funeral!

So if you really love podcasts... Come on and listen to our latest shooowww 🎶
Come on and let it,
Come on and let it,
Come on and let it shoooowwww

This week ChatFlix celebrates 200 Episodes! And we got the band back together; Jade Goodge, Stuart Wilson and Trevor Wood (and Brose Avard).

But which film would be worthy to celebrate such a milestone? (I know it’s written above this blurb, but come with me here...)

That’s right, JAWS! (The forbidden film)

For those of you that have been with us since the beginning, you’ll know that ChatFlix regular Jade was forbidden to watch Jaws. Well, to celebrate the 200th episode we made her watch it!

Steven Spielberg directs Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfus and Bruce (the shark) in this 1975 classic (and famous remake of the TV film Duel).

So slip on your floaties, slop yourself onto a boogie board and slap on some baby oil because it's the Summer of '75 and we're hitting that beach!

Apr 9, 2020

For our 199th episode we take podcasting to new lengths when we chat Disney’s 50th animated feature and visit the, rather unfortunately named, Corona Kingdom to chat - Tangled

So Brose'll ZOOM a panelist
Or maybe two or three
Illustrator Kayla can add a few new paintings to his gallery
Comedian Isabella’ll play guitar and knit
And cook and basically
Leaving Jazz to wonder, when will my life begin?

And we'll keep wonderin' and wonderin' And wonderin' ...geez! Maybe Mother Gothal DID know best. Stay in, stay healthy, plug in and get all Tangled up with us this Easter

Apr 3, 2020

Staying home can be tough but things could always be worse; you could be isolating with the Thrombey family from the recent Rian Johnson flick.

Nothing gets us gabbing like a good mystery and nothing brings a family together like murder.

Brose investigates with devoted caretaker James, the lifestyle guru Kathryn and trust fund playboy Chris to sift through all the twists, red herrings and lies to get to the truth.

Stay inside, stay healthy, plug in and listen with us as we chat 2019’s Knives Out.

Mar 27, 2020

This week Brose calls a handful of regular ChatFlixers to find out what they will be watching while in self isolation.

These are suggestions from easily accessible streaming platforms, so hopefully we can help you find a hidden gem!

Stay safe and you'll hear from us next time we Chat Flix.

Were you, like us, looking forward to seeing Disney’s NEW Mulan live action remake in cinemas before it was delayed due to the global coronavirus pandemic? Well, we have a solution for you to make your self isolation a little bit easier.

Brose recruits Kayla Coombs and Isabella Valette to take you back to 1998 for the original animated Mulan. Starring as the titular daughter who takes her father's place in the army and defeats the invading Hun is Disney triple-threat Ming-Na Wen, add Agents of SHIELD and Disney+’s The Mandalorian to make up her Disney trifecta! Disfecta...?

Also featuring; James Hong, George Takei, BD Wong, Pat Morita, and of course, Eddie Murphy as the hilarious guardian dragon; Mushu.

When we look back at this what will it’s reflection show? Will we remain true to our hearts? You’ll have to pop on your headphones and listen to find out!

Before Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker BLASTS into stores to own on 4K, Blu Ray and DVD on April 1st, for the FIRST TIME EVER ChatFlix takes a look at a flick we’ve already chatted. Consider this episode; Re-ChatFlix!

Get a whole other perspective this time around when Brose is joined by a couple of Chatflix stalwarts when Stuart and James sit in to chat The Rise of Skywalker.

Episode IX has proven to be one of the most divisive films in the Star Wars Cannon. With our initial reactions settled in, we chat to see how it stands up now that the space dust has settled.

Well before superheroes dominated the box office, back in 1979 crime fighting had really gone to the dogs. More specifically, C.H.O.M.P.S.

In a NEW series of minis, Brose sits down with Supergirl cosplayer extraordinaire Corrine Lawrence to chat about a handful of favourite, formative, childhood flicks.

The Canine Home Protection System, C.H.O.M.P.S. is a robot dog created by Wesley Eure's Brian Foster for Conrad Bain's Ralp[h Norton. C.H.O.M.P.S. has super strength, x-ray vision and a doggo sense to detect crimes being committed, does he manage to prevent being kidnapped by a Mr Burns type, Jim Backus' Mr Gibbs?

Did Hanna/Barbera's only live action effort live up to our memory or were we left asking “who let the dogs out?”

Mar 5, 2020

Brose chats with the former CEO of FAI films Shaun Levin, the company that developed and produced FernGully: The Last Rainforest

Mar 5, 2020

Look deeper into Australian rainforests and you’ll find a secret world where fairies call the trees home but when logging and pollution threaten their way of life. They need help, but can the fairies trust a human? Listen to our FernGully: The Last Rainforest episode to find out!

Like a force of nature. Brose rallies help from Jarrod and, fresh off the couch of the Kelly Clarkson Show, cartoonist Kayla Coombs! This week's panel takes us all the way back to 1992 to chat the Australian-American animated co-production starring Samantha Mathis, Christian Slater and the late, great Mr Robin Williams.

Once you’ve listened, download our bonus companion episode as Brose chats with the former CEO of FAI films Shaun Levin.

Mar 4, 2020

In a NEW series of minis, Brose sits down with Supergirl cosplayer extraordinaire Corrine Lawrence to chat about a handful of favourite, formative, childhood flicks.

This week is The Legend of Billie Jean starring everyone's favourite Supergirl; Helen Slater! Co-starring Christian Slater (no relation), Yeardley Smith and Dean Stockwell, discover why this film has become a cult classic!

Feb 27, 2020

While Sonic the Hedgehog runs amok internationally at the box office (in cinemas NOW), let us take you all the way back to 1993 for the first film ever adapted from a video game: Super Mario Bros.

The movie poster promised 'This Ain’t No Game' and boy o boy, were they not kidding! The Mario Brothers (Luigi Mario and, that’s right, that makes Mario’s full name Mario Mario) travel to another dimension to rescue a princess from the evil dictator King Koopa and stop him from taking over the world.

Can Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo save this flick from going down the drain? Nope.

Feb 26, 2020

In a NEW series of minis, Brose sits down with Supergirl cosplayer extraordinaire Corrine Lawrence to chat about a handful of favourite, formative, childhood flicks.

This week is rarely seen but revolutionary Robert Townsend's ambitious The Meteor Man. A black super hero dealing with black issues and not a single jungle or desert plain in sight!

Townsend is joined by Mufasa and Rafiki (James Earl Jones and Robert Guilliame), Marla Gibbs, Eddie Griffin, Don Cheadle and a who's who of African-American entertainers of the 90s.

Feb 20, 2020

Harley Quinn was dumped by The Joker, so we at Chatflix have sat down in front of our microphones to unpack our reactions to Cathy Yan’s NEW release; Birds of Prey And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn (boy, that’s a mouthful!) in a SPOILER filled chat.

Brose assembles a team just like Margot Robbie's Cupid of Crime; except comic tragic Jarrod isn’t an orphan bent on revenge and first timer (and Harley Quinn super fan) Kayleigh’s voice won’t shatter your ears drums (or your martini glass).

So grab a hair tie and unwrap your egg sandwich because we’re chatting BOP now!

Feb 19, 2020

In a NEW series of minis, Brose sits down with Supergirl cosplayer extraordinaire Corrine Lawrence to chat about a handful of favourite, formative, childhood flicks.

Kicking off with Condorman. You know the song;

Condorman, Condorman, does whatever a Condor can... wait! That might be wrong. What is right is that is stars a pre-West End darling Michael Crawford as cartoonist come super hero fighting a villain played by Hollywood legend Oliver Reed alongside unofficial Bond Girl Barbara Carrera. No seriously, Oliver Reed is in Condorman.

Does Condorman take flight all these years later? You’ll have to listen to find out.

Jan 31, 2020

This week Jarrod and Brose chat about what is coming u on ChatFlix in 2020!

The year Pacific Rim, Edge of Tomorrow, Reign of Fire are all set... is this the year for ChatFlix to finally chat Reign of Fire?

Jan 23, 2020

Party in the city where the heat is on.

All night, on the beach to the break of dawn…

Welcome to Maimi... in the 90s; when action comedies were rated R and shot loose and from the hip!

Yes, this week is Bad Boys; Michale Bay’s best action comedy starring three sitcom stars (Will Smith, Martin Lawrence and Tea Leoni) and featuring two cast members from The Sopranos (Joe Pantoliano and Michale Imperioli)! Who were you expecting? Dana Carvey and Jon Lovitz?

Brose rides with Shaun and Looch dies with Jazz coz it’s Bad Boys for Chatflix.

Bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do? You’re going to download us into your ear holes.

Jan 18, 2020

Brose and Jarrod sit down to chat everything 2019. The episodes, the movies and... well... the episodes and movies!

Enjoy and look out for our look forward into 2020 next week.

Before Jumanji levelled up to find new life as a TRON-like video game it originally made its way into 90’s kids hearts as a good old fashioned Board Game.

Brose is your Game Master and Stu and Caity have their playing pieces selected and it’s time to roll the dice as we take you back to 1995 to chat Joe Johnston’s Jumanji.

The 90’s didn’t have The Rock or Kevin Hart, instead we were treated to Robin Williams and Bonnie Hunt running around keeping a young Kirsten Dunst safe from some early CGI animals. Are you game enough to listen?
