Brose, Jade, Caity and Trev, Chatflix's four street rats brave the streets Agrabad to look at the story of Aladdin. The Disney classic animated film that may be the most singalongable film ever made!

With the irrepressible Robin Williams as the magically loveable Genie and songs by Mencken, Ashman & Rice  You aint never had friends like us.

Apr 21, 2017

David Fincher presents his vision of the ultimate warrior woman: Sigourney Weaver's Ripley! This time it's in a space prison and those hardened criminals have nothing on the Ripper. The biggest fight club, however, happened behind the scenes. 8 writers vs the producers!

Join Stu, Brose, Caity, and Danielle on the space chain gang as they try to avoid dropping the soap while the Xenomorphs are around.

Apr 14, 2017

Chatflix talks to Georgina the Bride and Watson live from the Melbourne International Comedy Festival about their love of films and their hilarious shows.

Apr 14, 2017

In 2017, after a worldwide economic collapse, the U.S. has become a totalitarian police state, censoring all cultural activity.

But enough about politics! This week we watch the Arnold Schwarzenegger classic Running Man as a falsely convicted man who has to compete for his live on a reality tv show. It's no Master Chef but we liked it!

Apr 7, 2017

Detroit is bankrupt with a privatised Police Force and the private sector experimenting with war machines on the general public. No, its not 2017, it's Paul Verhoeven's prophetic Robocop. You'd buy that for a dollar.. but you don't have to because we're giving it to you for free!

Join Brose "half man- half donut machine", Matt "half man - quarter chicken and chips",  and comedian Daniel "half man- half price on Tuesdays" Connell as they chat about this 1987 satirical masterpiece.

Bonus! Brose and Leisl chat to comedian Alice Fraser about her 2017 Melbourne International Comedy Festival Show "Empire" and her film inspirations.

Apr 6, 2017

Fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, miracles… Surely one film that contains all that is inconceivable?!

This week Brose, Tamzen, Stu, and Caity sat in bed with their blankets pulled tight as they talk about a pirate, a princess and the greatest love story of all-WAIT. Love story? is this a kissing story? Are you trying to trick me?

Mar 31, 2017

A tale old as time (or at least as old as 1991), when a witch cursed a prince to become a beast because… we’re not really sure why actually.

Anyway the curse could only be broken when four grown men - Brose, Stu, Trev and Matt O’Neill - gathered to talk about this Disney classic and the difficulties in finding a fork in the castle once the curse was broken.

Mar 2, 2017

Party on Brose, Party on Tamzen.

The gang are joined in their blue AMC pacer by comedian performer Hayley Butcher as well as regular guest Stu Wilson, as they crank Bohemian Rhapsody and have a schwinging good time talking about the 1992 classic Wayne’s World, based on the SNL sketch created by Mike Myers and Dana Carvey, and with ridiculously good looking Rob Lowe and Tia Carrere, the question is "Are you worthy?"

Feb 23, 2017

This week the Chatflix team gather and see if we swoon over Patrick Swayze. The dude was star of Roadhouse for pete’s sake! In Dirty Dancing however he tries to be even cooler (science is unsure how) as Catskills dance instructor Johnny Castle. Johnny. Castle! Even the name is tested in a laboratory to be arctic cool!

Joining him is Jennifer Grey and legendary Jerry Orbach of Law & Order fame! (Dun dun!). Disappointingly Jerry is kept out of the dirty dancing.

Brose, Tamzen, Matt and Danielle: one of these people put this film in the corner. But which one?

Feb 8, 2017

Tamzen, Brose, Trev and Stu invented Postit notes. Don’t look it up on Wikipedia! It’s true! We’re not just trying to impress people we went to school with.

Luckily for you guys we took time out of spending all our Postit money to talk about Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion. Starring Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow, they look so good with blond hair and black roots it's like not even funny. Joining the girls is the crush inducing Janeane Garofalo and the dancing king that is Alan Cumming.

Have a "Romy and Michele" day!

Feb 3, 2017

In 1979 Ridley Scott introduced a whole generation to soiling themselves in fright at the thought of acid drooling, eyeless, eponymous Alien. This week Brose, Jade, Danielle and Alien: Defiance artist Tristan Jones grab a spare pair of clean underwear and peak over the couch to watch and talk.

We discuss the legacy that has lasted 7 films, and how badass Sigourney Weaver is. Because she is. She’s Zuul dagnabit.

Jan 26, 2017

In a special bonus episode, Chatflix gets the vibe from Dennis Denuto himself;Tiriel Mora.

Jan 25, 2017

We bathe in the serenity, revel in the vibe and dig a whole lot of love for this Australian comedy classic. Off the back of their late night sketch The Late Show the Working Dog team of Santo Cilauro, Rob Sitch, Jane Kennedy and Tom Gleisner created a heart warming story of a man who viewed his house as his castle and fought for it like a king of old.

As a special treat this week Brose chatted with Tiriel Mora, the Kerrigan lawyer extraordinaire Dennis Denuto, about his experience making the film and how he got one of the greatest lines in aussie cinema.

"In summing up, it’s the constitution, it’s Mabo, it’s justice, it’s law, it’s the vibe, and…no that’s it…it’s the vibe. I rest my case."

Jan 17, 2017

The Chatflix team try and seduce you with the the 1967 classic the Graduate. Dustin Hoffman is a college graduate with no real aim in life… if this movie was set in 2016 he could just do a podcast! Instead he is seduced by older woman Mrs. Robinson played by Anne Bancroft while he falls for her daughter Elaine.

With Mike Nichols directing, a score by Simon and Garfunkel and a slew of academy awards we feel bad it’s taken our podcast 60 years to get here.

"Look, maybe we could do something else together. Mrs. Robinson, would you like to go to a movie?"

Jan 11, 2017

This week we're doing something a little different. We LOVE Spirited Away but we weren't so happy with the audio quality of the Spirited Away episode so our Audio Wizard Tim worked his magic and has done such a great job we wanted to give the episode another chance to shine so this week is Spirited Away Redux. Enjoy!

Editor's Note: "I started out listening to Chatflix purely as a fan, before getting involved for the first time at Ep 13. At first I just gave notes, then became involved in the edits themselves.

In my previous life as a fan, I thought the Spirited Away episode had very strong content, but at times was virtually inaudible. As my editing skills increased, I realised there was an opportunity to go back and fix it up. So I did. I hope you will enjoy the now-audible Spirited Away."

Jan 6, 2017

None of us can believe it's taken 29 episodes to get to Jeff Goldblum but nature has finally found a way! The Chatflix crew roll up a newspaper and give a good swat at David Cronenberg's classic horror The Fly.

The Fly is a dark and disturbing warning to those who don't wash their hands before getting in their teleportation pods. I mean it's basic hygiene people! What would Scotty say?!

Dec 27, 2016

We assemble our own ragtag group of rebels, Brose, Stu, Trev and Shaun Crawford from fakeshemp.net.

It's a Jynferno of opinions as we cover all the thrills and spills of the prequel to the original that then became a sequel followed by two more sequels then three bad prequels (which we don't discuss) followed by a sequel which was a lot like the orginal/sequel. With all of that it's no wonder we needed flow charts and an elite cadre of Star Wars fans to talk about Rogue One.

Also don't forget to listen to our all star rogueview ep.

Dec 27, 2016

We fly around the galaxy finding out what people thought of the latest addition to the Star Wars story.

Brose got on the Flixphone and called everyone as they left the cinema, popcorn still warm to get their thoughts.

Did it give Steele Saunders a new hope? Did Tristan Jones' Force Awaken? Was Matt's Caravan full of Courage? Hey not everyone of these is going to be gold...

Don't forget to listen to Brose, Trev, Stu and Shaun discuss it more depth.

Dec 20, 2016

Echo, Brose, and Liesl strap on the gloves and climb in the ring to talk about the Man, The Myth, the Legend. The Italian Stallion: Rocky.

The 1976 film made Sylvester Stallone a star and launched one of the most enduring franchises in cinema history that is now 6 films long. Does Brose think the film manages to Rise up back on the streets? Does Echo think that a half man, half stallion with the eye of a tiger make an effective boxer?

Also in this episode Brose chats to Jeremy Shada, Finn from Adventure Time, to discuss his love of film

Don't forget to rate and review us on your favourite podcast app or we're gonna have to go a few rounds.

"He doesn't know it's a damn show! He thinks it's a damn fight!"

Dec 14, 2016

Bridget Jones. She a drinker, smoker, appallingly bad public speaker as well as a wanton sex goddess with absolutely enormous panties. But Echo, Brose, Tamzen and Trev likes her, very much. Just as she is.

Join us as we drink some chardonnay, sip some blue soup and talk about a role model for the 21st century and the love triangle between childult Hugh Grant and haughty Colin Firth (who should totally rethink the length of his sideburns).

Don't forget to rate and review us on your favourite podcast app!

Dec 8, 2016

Film wizard guests Matt and Leisl join muggle Echo and Brose as they board the train at Platform 9 and 3/4 to witness Harry, Ron and Hermione’s first year at Hogwarts.

The mix between grange hill and lord of the rings made Harry Potter the second biggest franchise of all time, making Warners rich and running around on a broom the coolest it's been since Salem 1692.

What did we think? Well it’s got Richard Harris, Maggie Smith, Robbie Coltrane and Alan Rickman in it so we think it’s magic.

"I hope you're pleased with yourselves. We could all have been killed - or worse, expelled. Now if you don't mind, I'm going to bed."

Nov 30, 2016

Harold Crick is a very boring man, and as an auditor for the IRS he probably should die.. but that doesn’t make it any easier for him to hear that an omniscient narrator plans to kill him. Harold needs to find the narrator and convince her to change his story or if that fails maybe take control of his own life.

Join Echo, Brose, Stu and Leisl as they get very meta and provide commentary on a film about a book and a few amazing characters including Will Farrell, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Emma Thompson and Dustin Hoffman.

“Some plots are moved forward by external events and crises. Others are moved forward by the characters themselves."

Nov 24, 2016

You’ll never have friends like the ones you had when you were 12…

But Echo, Brose, Trev and Summer are going to give it our best shot anyway.

Join us as we wander down the train tracks with Gordy, Chris, Teddy and Vern to discuss this 1986 Steven King penned tale of four friends and how it’s not about the destination but rather the journey.

Go on, Gordie, it's a swell story.

Nov 16, 2016

Join Echo, Brose, Trev and Danielle to discuss a 40 year old satire that somehow became reality.

Paddy Chayefsky delivered a  prophetically chilling vision of news as entertainment. Directed by Sidney Lumen with a multi-Oscar winning cast including Faye Dunaway, Peter Finch and Beatrice Straight as well as film legends William Holden, Robert Duvall and Ned Beatty, the Chatflix team have a lot to chat about.

Things have got to change. But first, you've gotta get mad!... You've got to say, 'I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!'

Nov 10, 2016

This week Echo, Brose, Stuart and Shaun Crawford of fakeshemp.net discuss whether Richard Kelly’s Donnie Darko is a psychological horror-science fiction drama or a unique retelling of the story of chicken little?

Beware of falling aeroplane engines and Patrick Swayzes
